The Distinguished Alum Award (DAA) is the highest award given by IIT Madras to its alums in recognition of their achievements in their respective field of expertise. The Office of the Alumni and Corporate Relations receives nominations under specific categories for the Distinguished Alum Awards and the selection is made by a committee appointed by the Director. Around 10 alums are selected for the awards each year.
The awards are presented annually on the Institute Day. Here is the list of awardees since the inception of the awards in 1996.
