Since its inception in 1959, the Department of Applied Mechanics & Biomedical Engineering has grown into a full-fledged interdisciplinary graduate research department. Focusing on academic undertakings in Biomedical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics and Solid Mechanics, the department boasts state-of-the-art facilities, a new Direct PhD program that has attracted many bright minds to pursue research as a career, as well as international recognition for their industrial research and sponsored projects.
