Abstract
To meet thestringent emission and safety regulations, automobile industry manufactures arerequired to develop fuel efficient and safer vehicles. Toachieve this, considerable research is being undertaken to develop 3rd generation advanced high strength medium Mn steels with high tensilestrength-high ductility combination at an affordable cost. Computational thermodynamics based alloys design is being applied toaccelerate the development of medium Mn steels with Mn content in the range of 4-10wt.% along with other alloying content like C, Si and Al (
