Magnetic materials with strong frustration are ideal to host many interesting physical phenomena such as quantum spin liquids. Quantum spin liquid refers to a correlated quantum state wherein frustration induced strong quantum fluctuations melt long range magnetic ordering down to T→0 in magnetic materials despite strong exchange interactions between spins. Experimental realization of quantum spin liquids in magnetic materials with spin dimensionality greater than one is an outstanding theme in condensed matter physics. The current challenge is to design and explore quantum materials without defects and disorder that could serve as a model material for the ideal realization of quantum spin liquids with exotic excitations. In this talk, I will present our preliminary results on two recently synthesized frustrated magnets and the research plan.
