Novel quantum states in frustrated magnetic materials

Details

Spin correlations, frustration and the interplay between competing degrees of freedom can lead to novel quantum states with unconventional fractional excitations in magnetic materials. In this context, experimental realization of novel quantum states such as quantum spin liquids with exotic low-energy magnetic excitations in frustrated magnets built on triangular and kagome motifs is an outstanding track in modern condensed matter. In this talk, I will present a brief overview of the topic, some of our recent results and research plan.
