This report provides a review on the design of robotic hands A wide variety of robotic hands in a multitude of sectors have been developed especially in the last two decades. They are being used in teleoperations, service industry, healthcare industry, etc. The goal for all robotic design is to create a device that is economical as well as possesses the dexterity comparable with the human hand. The design of robotic hands is largely dependent on the application it is intended to be used. The design considerations, advantages, limitations, and prior work in the field of robotic hand design for various applications have been discussed elaborately in this report.
