Details

Starting from the transport properties of the geometrical optics field of Maxwell’s equations, we discuss Radon transform and projection slice theorem that are central to the inversion process of computerized tomography. The selection of X-ray sources and of the architecture of transmit and receive arrays together with the implementation of the inversion algorithm are discussed. Some recent extensions of the algorithm with implementation using microwaves and near field sensors is also discussed.
