Tribology is an interdisciplinary science dealing with friction between interacting surfaces. While this applies in various fields ranging from automotive engines to eye drops, the principal area remains lubricants and greases. The proposed session would cover the basics of tribology, including different test and analysis strategies. This would be followed by case studies related to engine oils, polymers, food and beverages, asphalt binders, etc.
