In this work, an attempt has been made to analyze the influence of pathological changes in ocular morphology towards the mechanical responses of optic nerve head tissues during eye adductions. For this study, a 3D finite element model of posterior ocular tissues has been developed. The geometrical parameters of the model such as the eye globe diameters, lamina cribrosa thickness and surface curvature are modified to mimic the changes of tissue structures in glaucoma, myopia and glaucoma with myopia conditions. Results show that strains developed in lamina cribrosa and its posterior displacement are higher in diseased eyes compared to healthy eyes. The model developed, the analysis and the detailed results will be discussed in this seminar.
