Established in 1986, the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) coordinates the continuing education programmes of the Institute. It supports faculty members by providing knowledge-based technological services to satisfy the needs of the society and industry, as well as helping to build national capabilities in science, technology, humanities, management, education and research.
The Centre's activities include helping in the organization of web-enabled Continuing Education Programmes aimed at industry, Short-Term Courses under QIP meant for faculty in engineering institutions, Book Writing Scheme and courses under Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN).
The Education Technology Cell, established in 1989 for the purpose of creating educational videos and other software of broadcast quality in Science and Technology using the expertise of the faculty and the facilities at IIT, has incubated projects such as NPTEL, GIAN and web-enabled M.Tech courses.
