Set up with support from the Ministry of Communication and IT and the Indian Telecom Industry, the Centre of Excellence in Wireless Technology (CEWiT) is an autonomous research society. The main focus of the Centre is to provide technological leadership and address the needs of the Indian wireless industry through extensive Research & Development and value creation. Working as a neutral partner to policy makers and industry stakeholders, CEWiT not only looks at advancing the wireless communication industry but also plays a crucial role in building a dynamic wireless R&D ecosystem in India.
The Centre engages closely with various academic and research groups in India that focus on contributing towards global standards while considering operator requirements and usage scenarios. With its vast knowledge and experience base, it provides valuable technical services and consultancy to Telecom companies in India in the areas of 4G technologies like LTE and LTE-Advanced and the upcoming 5G technologies.
