Frustration, spin correlations and interplay between competing degrees of freedom lead to novel ground states in condensed matter physics. Magnetic frustration refers to incompatibility of magnetic interactions between spins to minimize the ground state energy. Frustrated magnets offer an ideal ground for the experimental realization of exotic quantum states such as spin liquids. However, in many instances, the presence of disorder and defects in real materials put a strong constraint for such realizations. The current challenge is to design and explore structurally perfect frustrated magnets potential to host interesting quantum phenomena. In this talk, I will present our preliminary results on a couple of frustrated magnets and the research plan.
