To meet the stringent emission and safety regulations, automobile industry manufactures are required to develop fuel efficient and safer vehicles. To achieve this, considerable research is being undertaken to develop 3rd generation advanced high strength medium Mn steels with high tensile strength-high ductility combination at an affordable cost. Computational thermodynamics based alloys design is being applied to accelerate the development of medium Mn steels with Mn content in the range of 4-10wt.% along with other alloying content like C, Si and Al (
