Details

Cytotoxicity is the resultant of toxic actions of various drugs on living cells. It causes morphological alterations such as cell shrinkage, nuclear fragmentation, loss of membrane integrity, leakage of cellular structures, and swollen nuclei. Fluorescence microscopy imaging facilitates the study of cells and their structures. Analysis of cell nuclei using fluorescence microscopy images at different drug concentrations provides an understanding of cytotoxic effects. In this work, structural changes in microscopic cell nuclei images are analyzed to assess drug-induced cytotoxicity. The cell nuclei in the considered images are digitally delineated and are further subjected to geometric and texture feature extraction. The corresponding drug-induced changes are studied. The methodology, significant results, and salient contributions will be presented in this seminar
