The focus of the talk will be to first present various projects undertaken at SDSU in the realm of automotive design, biomedical design and robotics and to then explore the synergies between research interest of faculty at IIT-Madras, Department of Engineering Design and SDSU’s College of Engineering.

The talk will present projects and research work undertaken by faculty at SDSU in the domain of next generation Telecommunications to connect the three billion people of this world who are still unconnected to fundamental services such as healthcare and education. It will explore the need to automotive design and unmanned aerial vehicles in this project. The talk will also focus on several applications of wireless health, neuroengineering rehabilitation to restore animation in huan paralyzed limbs and prosthetic or robotics ones.
Artificial intelligence driven dynamic resource allocation schemes for cost-effective infrastructure, innovation in coding schemes for Augmented and Virtual reality applications and breakthroughs in battery life for miniaturized aerial platforms are some of the other verticals in which we aim to contribute new knowledge to the engineering community.

The talk will focus on discussing the open research problems and seek collaboration from interested faculty members at IIT-Madras. This work has been submitted for funding to National Science Foundation (NSF) to their Engineering Research Center (ERC) program which encourages international partnerships.
