A high speed Random Number Generator is a very essential component for modern day gaming applications, Monte-Carlo simulations and cryptography applications. Most importantly, to ensure security in Quantum Communication protocols, which is at present the most promising technology for secured communication, we need a standalone and truly Random Number Generator module at both the transmitter and receiver stations. Most of the current state-of-the-arts have come up with off-chip solutions for Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) modules that are bulky or costly, and not based on a scalable technology.
In this seminar, first, we will talk about the importance of an on-chip QRNG module in this current scenario. Next, we will discuss on the demonstration possibility of QRNG device in Silicon-On Insulator (SOI) platform, which is fully compatible with well established CMOS technology. Hence, we propose for a demonstration of a scalable, high-speed and low-cost solution for QRNG module. Some progress made in this direction will be discussed as well.
