The Fourth Estate

The Fourth Estate, also known as TFE, is the campus magazine of IIT Madras. The range is colossal, from the profound to the ridiculous, from poems, abstract or constructive, to stories, humorous or instructive, from sarcastic essays to vignettes, from cartoons to graffiti, from one-liners to limericks and much more. TFE was founded in November 2000 and the soft copies of some of the issues published are available at http://students.iitm.ac.in/thefifthestate/

The Fifth Estate, also known as T5E, is IIT Madras' online news portal and covers major campus events, talks to people who've been in the news, carries articles about happenings around the city, conducts surveys and writes informative articles around important issues, and apart from the students, tries to keep alumni worldwide informed about ongoing campus events as well. The Fifth Estate was founded in July 2009 and apart from managing the news portal prints a newspaper as well. The news portal can be viewed at http://students.iitm.ac.in/thefifthestate/.

Both these publications are sponsored by the Student Gymkhana and are brought out by the Dean (Students). Both these publications are managed by a student editorial team heading a team of correspondents and reporter.
