Description: Fundamental concepts of multiphase : gas-liquid, gas-solid, liquid-liquid and liquid-solid systems. Particle, drop and bubble dynamics. Application of continuity, momentum and energy equations. Hydrodynamic characteristics : holdup, slip, pressure drop an rise/drop velocities. Mass and energy transfer with and without simultaneous chemical reactions. Application to trickle beds, bubble and slurry reactors, cyclones, fluidized beds etc.
