Course Information
Course Name: EE6470 : Optical Signal Processing & Quantum Computing
Description: Introduction into states of light and their interactions in linear and nonlinear media. Applications of interactions to provide optical signal processing capabilities - all opticals witching - advanced topics in quantum optics field quantization single photon states ? coherent states and squeezed states. The interaction of optical fields with matter relevant to the quantum nature of the photon. Tools of analysis ? the Poincare? sphere creation and annihilation operators density matrices to interpret measurements of quantum phenomena. Designing all optical signal processing and quantum communication systems applied to classical optical communications to enhance modulation rates, signal to noise ratio, polarization and bit error rates.
