Course Name: CE5490 : Hydraulic Engg Lab
Description: Flow measurement: Determination of velocity distribution in an open channel flow, energy and momentum coefficients in subcritical and supercritical flows in open channels, construction of isovels, rating of currentmeter in towing tank. Open channel flow: Hydraulic jump in horizontal and sloping channels, energy dissipation at the toe of spillways, gradually varied flow surface profiles, channel transition for subcritical and supercritical flows, flow in bends. Soilwater interaction: Steady and unsteady groundwater flow, sand box model, groundwater recharge. Surface irrigation model, infiltration experiments. Hydrograph analysis. Analogue models: Electrical analogy setup, flow under a weir floor, seepage flow with a free surface , earth dam seepage. HeleShaw model. Membrane analogy model. Water quality evaluation.
