Description: Separation of two-component mixtures of organic compounds. Synthesis and isolation of organic compounds with an emphasis on different techniques of reaction set-up (air-sensitive, moisture-sensitive etc.), separation / purification (extraction, Soxhlet extraction, recrystallization, distillation, column chromatography) and monitoring of reaction by TLC. Structure determination of the isolated pure compounds by NMR spectroscopy, IR Spectroscopy and Mass spectrometry.
