Dr. V. T. Fidal Kumar, a former doctoral scholar of the Department of Biotechnology and his team Priyadharshini Mani, a former joint PhD scholar with University of Westminster, UK and Suresh Paul (M/s.JSP) has secured the Second Position in the ClimateLaunchpad Global Grand Final 2018, the world's largest green business ideas competition, held in Scotland, UK for their pitch idea 'to treat textile effluent using Microbial fuel cell technologies'. 

Of a total of 1500 applications, 135 teams made to finale of which the above team emerged Second.  The top three teams were given a cash prize of 5000 Euros and will be part of the EU Climate KIC Accelerator.  The team will be working at the Bioincubator of Research Park. 

Prof. T. S. Chandra had guided Dr. V T Fidal Kumar and co-guided Priyadharshini Mani.
